Have your say – help us end domestic abuse
Doncaster, like other towns and cities up and down the country, has seen a rise in reported cases of domestic abuse as victims have been the subject of abuse in their own homes during coronavirus lockdowns.
The council, along with our partners, believes anyone can experience domestic abuse and it is everyone’s responsibility to end it. We are absolutely committed to putting an end to domestic abuse in Doncaster and are asking the public to complete a survey on this matter.
The results of the survey will help form the new domestic abuse strategy. We need everyone in Doncaster to work together to say that we will not accept domestic abuse. Please complete the survey now.
We also need to hear from practitioners, community leaders and activists about how services can improved to prevent and tackle domestic abuse and we have developed a separate survey for these groups of people, along with a survey for young people exploring relationships.
Finally, it is more important than ever that survivors of domestic abuse, and their families, have their voices heard and specific questions been developed to gain this information.
The closing date is 11 June 2021. All completed questionnaires are anonymous but if you would like to be more involved in tackling domestic abuse in Doncaster please contact Karen Shooter, at Doncaster Council Karen.shooter@doncaster.gov.uk
If you are experiencing domestic abuse and need support please contact the Doncaster Domestic Abuse Hub on 01302 737080 or visit www.doncaster.gov.uk/domesticabuse
