Weather update
The Environment Agency has now removed the flood alerts which were in place in Doncaster
Whilst this is of course good news, water levels still remain high and we will continue to monitor the situation closely with staff on the ground today and into the weekend.
With that in mind we ask residents to remain vigilant - there is still some disruption in place in areas across the borough due to flood water.
Please also be mindful of the pandemic and we urge you to continue to follow the current Covid-19 advice which is to remain at home and only go out for essential purposes.
Please keep an eye out for any further updates from us on Facebook and Twitter or the Environment Agency on Twitter
What to do with sandbags
Flood alerts are now being removed in Doncaster, so you may be asking what to do with any sandbags you have?
Around 45,000 sandbags have been distributed this week and we’d like to ask you to keep them in place for the time being at least.
Rain has again been forecast for the back end of next week, and whilst it’s too early to say whether this may have any impact on water levels and flooding we don’t want to take any chances.
We will of course be monitoring the situation very closely, and if we do have any concerns we will inform residents straight away! If you do have any contaminated sandbags then please dispose of them.
Pumps in Fishlake
Residents of Fishlake may have noticed Environment Agency pumps in the area. They will be in operation from tonight to assist with the drawdown of the washlands standing water.
