Council Launches Call for Sites and Ideas for Local Development Plan 3
Dumfries and Galloway Council is inviting submissions for its Call for Sites and Ideas as part of the development of the region’s third Local Development Plan (LDP3).
This survey period, running for 8 weeks from 31 January to 28 March, offers the opportunity for residents, agents, developers, landowners, and other stakeholders to help shape the future of the region.
The Call for Sites allows interested parties to propose sites for consideration in LDP3, with submissions welcomed for all types of development, including:
- housing
- business and industry
- allotments
- community spaces
- leisure, tourism, and retail
The Call for Ideas is open to everyone and provides an avenue for sharing thoughts, comments, and suggestions on any aspect relevant to the plan.
For more details, and to submit your proposals, visit Local Development Plan 3 (LDP3).
Ground Investigations Works at Lockerbie Railway Station
As part of phase two of the Lockerbie Railway Station car park project, ground investigation works will start on 17 February.
These works will temporarily reduce the number of available parking spaces in various locations within the existing station car park for a week. Parking will still be available in the existing car park and at the new Sydney Place car park during this period. However, anyone using the station during this time should be advised to allow extra time for their journey.
The investigative works are necessary for developing the final proposals to reconfigure the existing station car park, creating a more user-friendly facility with improved entry and exit points, street lighting, as well as addressing the inappropriate pavement parking issues.
Recycling Reminder
From kerbside recycling of batteries, paper, card plastics, metals and food cartons to our recycling centres where you can dispose of waste that cannot be put in your domestic recycling or non-recyclable waste bins – our council offers services and advice to help you reduce, reuse and recycle waste.
There is a lot of information to help you recycle the waste generated in day-to-day life on our website in the bins and recycling section.
You can find out where you can dispose of used vapes (at one of our recycle centres), arrange the collection large items or bulky waste or apply for a permit for our new Garden Waste Collection Service. Visit our pages to find out more.
