Action for schools and further education settings: Access SEND continuing professional development (CPD) resources from the Universal SEND Services programme
The Department for Education’s Universal SEND Services programme can help you to identify and meet the needs of children with SEND in your school or further education setting earlier and more effectively, helping you to deliver an even more inclusive mainstream system and improved preparation for adulthood.
A number of exciting SEND CPD opportunities are available, including a series of 19 online SEND CPD units exploring some of the most commonly observed barriers to learning regardless of age, label or area of need.
Unit topics include behaviour, speech, language and communication needs, and sensory differences. Each unit takes under an hour to complete and provides clear guidance on adaptations to help meet the needs of all learners. There is no need to study the units in order, and each can be completed across a number of sessions.
