The 600 metre cordon around Exmouth Marina has been lifted, and dispersed residents have been returning home, some for the first time in two nights.
The unexploded second World War bomb, dredged out of the water earlier this week, was towed at hightide this morning to a location off the coast and disposed of safely.

The new Chudleigh Road link will open to traffic on Monday (19 January), providing a new signal controlled junction with the A379. It replaces the current junction and the former route will be permanently closed to motor vehicles.
The preferred alignment for the Boniface Trail, a new walking and cycling route linking Exeter and Crediton, has been endorsed by our Cabinet.
The decision on Wednesday, 14 January, follows detailed technical assessments and public engagement, and marks a step towards delivering a safer, sustainable travel corridor along the busy A377. However, further funding and design would be required before any sections of the trail could be constructed.
