We do our best to keep the content and structure of our PEN website up-to-date in these fast-changing times and your suggestions on how to improve the website are always welcome.

How to Make Your Adult Social Care Workforce Date Set Update Easier!

What is bulk upload? Rather than using the service to input records individually, you use a file to upload your records in one go. The system reads your data from the file and puts it into the right place in your account for you.

Who can use it? It is recommended that bulk upload is used by large providers who need to add data for multiple workplaces. Individual workplaces with less than 50 staff members often find it easier to add their data manually.

This video https://vimeo.com/939099613 shows you the process looks like to give you an idea of what's involved.

Reminder - Delegated Healthcare in Action: Local voices, Shared Solutions Roadshows

These Skills For Care roadshow events will bring together everyone involved in delegated healthcare activities, ranging from registered professionals who delegate healthcare activities and commissioners, to providers and people who draw on care and support.

The events will draw on local insights and address common challenges to promote safe and personalised delegation. They are an opportunity to network with others delivering delegated healthcare activities in your region. You’ll also be able to find out what’s new and innovative and share with others what’s working well in your area.

The roadshows are open to anyone interested in delegated healthcare activities across adult social care.

We are committed to being as inclusive and representative of the sector as possible, this includes delegates and speakers.

This includes people with lived experience in receipt of delegated healthcare activity- for example:

  • an individual employer and their Personal Assistant.
  • A provider/regulated professional delegating activity to a care worker.
  • System Lead – Integrated Care Board/Local Authority Commissioner who has delegated healthcare activities.
  • System/project/pilot in place that can evidence impact.

Find out more and register for the roadshow nearest you, in Taunton on Thursday 11 September.

Good News Stories -

Edenmore and the Ilfracombe Soapbox Derby

Edenmore Nursing Home had great fun participating in a Soapbox Derby, put on by Ilfracombe Round Table to support their own charity and Children’s Hospice South West.

Staff, residents, and relatives collaborated to hand-build a kart which did the home proud, with special thanks for Gayle Cooper the home manager’s husband who helped create the Edenmore-shaped kart and who commented that: “‘It was just brilliant to be part of the first-ever derby,’ shared Gayle. ‘The atmosphere was electric, and the community spirit made all the hard work worth it. We’ve already started talking about ideas for next year!’

Team member Jesu had the challenge of guiding the kart: “manoeuvring down the course was quite challenging. The steering was all over the place as the kart was not designed to have a house built on it – but I had so much fun and the turnout was absolutely amazing.”

Reminder - Jobcentre Experiences Feedback Form

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), which runs Jobcentres are looking at ways they can improve their support for people with a learning disability.

They would like to learn more about the experiences of people with a learning disability when visiting the Jobcentre. They would like to know if what they are doing is helpful or not.

They want you to tell them if there are other things they could do to be more helpful.

If you have visited the Jobcentre in the past 24 months, they would really like to hear about your experience.  You can share your experience by completing a survey.  To complete the survey please click the link below -
