 Exeter children’s library is getting a big makeover
Exeter children’s library is getting an impressive upgrade, including a brand-new sensory area, floating mezzanine and activities for older children, thanks to funding from the Clore Duffield Foundation.
The Devon County Council elections are taking place in less than a week, on Thursday 1 May. They are your chance to help shape your community’s future and be heard on the local issues you care about. Keep an eye out next week for a special edition of this newsletter which will have lots of useful information about polling day and what to expect.  Earn a Recycle Devon Badge!
We've created an exciting opportunity for all Devon Rainbows, Brownies, Guides Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, to earn themselves a Recycle Devon Badge to sew on their uniforms.
During March, over 7,000 young people from across Devon voted in the Make Your Mark ballot, and we can now reveal that the top voted issue was ‘Places to go, things to do’.
As more outdoor activities take place during the spring and summer it is important to be aware of the risk of ticks to children and adults. Follow UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) advice to understand the importance of checking for ticks after activities and what to do if you find a tick bite.
Do you want to meet and chat with other carers in person? Why not join one of Devon Carers' many face-to-face Peer Support Groups taking place around the county in May and discuss any caring issues you may have, share your caring experiences and enjoy spending time with other unpaid carers.
NHS Devon's Talkworks service has free wellbeing workshops available to adults living in Devon (outside Plymouth). The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) is urging travellers to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Umrah and the upcoming Hajj pilgrimages to ensure they are vaccinated against meningococcal disease with the MenACWY vaccine. This is due to ongoing outbreaks of serogroup W (MenW) disease associated with travel to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
