Centre news for May

Welcome back, we hope you all had a restful Easter and May bank holiday, and have been enjoying the sunshine! The library team were kept very busy making up topic boxes to support your Summer term curriculum. Hot Reads  Look out after half term for our new 'Hot Reads' - books selected by the centre staff as the best new titles for KS1 and KS2 with both Fiction and Non-fiction lists.

Mental health booklists

New mental health booklists for Primary and Secondary are now available.

These selections of fiction and non-fiction books have a positive mental health focus and give solutions and mechanisms to help young people cope with a range of mental health issues.

Order them for your school through us!!

Library network meetings - Summer term

Our library network meetings are free of charge!!. They are led by the SLS advisory team and are a source of up-to-date information, the sharing of ideas and good practice. Primary Thursday 26 June at SLS, Willand Secondary Tuesday 24 June at SLS, Willand Focus: To be confirmed All meetings begin at 1.30pm, email us to book your place now.

Re-think Reading! is a collection of ideas for lessons that can be used and adapted for guided or whole class reading with each primary school year group. They have been written by the English Team around the demands of the national curriculum programmes of study for reading and are available for each phase: Y1, Y2, Y3/4 and Y5/6.
