Are you ready to vote? Don’t miss the deadlines!
There are three different ways you can vote in the Devon County Council elections on Thursday 1 May. You can either vote in person at the polling station, by post, or ask someone you trust to vote on your behalf (by proxy). You can choose the way that suits you, just make sure you’re ready.
The deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on Monday 14 April and the deadline to apply for a proxy vote is 5pm on Wednesday 23 April. To vote in person at a polling station, you will need to bring photo ID. If you don’t have an accepted form of photo ID, you can apply for a free voter ID before 5pm on Wednesday 23 April.
There’s lots of useful information about getting ready to vote on our website.
We're hosting a series of online sessions with help and advice for young people preparing for adulthood. The next session takes place next week.
Our April session focusses on independent living and housing options. We'll be discussing the different options available and helping people to understand how to navigate the process of finding suitable accommodation for young adults.
These sessions are an opportunity for residents to hear about the support and advice available for young people, and those that support them.
This session is open to all, but is specifically aimed at young people. It's on Tuesday 15 April, from 1pm to 2pm, and can be accessed online through Microsoft Teams.
To find out more and to book a place on the session, visit our website.

Enjoy the great outdoors but be tick aware! Ticks are small, bloodsucking, spider-like creatures that live in grassland and woodland habitats. Some ticks can pass on infectious diseases when they bite you or your pets. Learn how to protect yourself, manage tick bites and stop the spread of diseases such as Lyme disease, on the Government website.
