 New booking system makes it easier for parents to access Holiday Activities and Food programme
We’ve introduced a new booking system for parents to access and book sessions on their Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme. It’s been designed with feedback from parents, to make it quicker, less complicated, and more convenient to use from mobile phones and tablets, as well as laptops and PCs.
Make your Mark is the largest issue-based youth vote in Europe. In Devon we run the vote every year so that the Devon Youth Council can find out the top issue for local young people and campaign for change here in Devon. If you know someone aged 11-19 (up to 25 with SEND) send this their way, as it's their opportunity to have their say, and it only takes a few minutes!
Libraries in Devon and Torbay generated the equivalent of £23.9m in social value during 2023/24 and have already accounted for £18.18m from April to December this current financial year. New statistics shared by Libraries Unlimited – the charity responsible for running Devon & Torbay’s library network – are shining a light on all the ways its 54 libraries have benefited local communities.
 Work to install EV chargers for new bus fleet begins
Work has started on the installation of charging infrastructure at Exeter bus depot in readiness for the arrival of the new electric fleet later this summer. Located in the Matford Park and Ride, the charging points will be available for use by the public when not in use by a Stagecoach bus, creating a Community Charging Hub with high-speed charging technology.
There's not much data available about informal groups and small clubs that have not been registered with the Charity Commission or other regulator, and their huge social value often goes unrecognised. Devon Community Foundation wants to hear from unregistered voluntary, community groups in Devon as part of their project to develop a full picture of the sector and identify strengths and challenges.
The name of the new bridge over Shutterton Brook in Dawlish was unveiled this week marking a significant milestone in providing the homes and infrastructure needed to support the growing local community. It has been named ‘Sweet Violets Bridge’ to commemorate Dawlish’s historic violet industry.

Some ticks can pass on infectious diseases when they bite you or your pets.
