Outdoor learning conference 2025
Come and see us at the Outdoor learning conference being held on 28 March at Exeter Racecourse, where we will have a range of books to compliment the theme 'Utilising places and spaces'.

We are currently updating our Suggested reads lists for 2025/26, and look forward to sharing these with you next month!

Did you know ...
Over the Christmas period we returned 24,252 and then reissued 30,164 topic books.
During the whole of 2024 we processed a total of 183,560 topic books plus 56,997 exchange books.

We are pleased to announce that Devon School Library Service will be running our popular Carnegie Celebration Event again this year and will be joined by 2024 shortlisted author Tia Fisher.
The events will be hosted by:
Exmouth Community College on Wednesday 11 June and Pilton Community College on Thursday 12 June
Both events run from around 9am to 12.45am, more details to follow.
Secure your seats early by booking on to an event by email, stating which event you will be attending.
Don’t forget to register your shadowing group at The Carnegies.

Our library network meetings are free of charge!!. They are led by the SLS advisory team and are a source of up-to-date information, the sharing of ideas and good practice.

Monday 10 February 2025 - virtual meeting
From 3.15pm to 4.15pm we will be running an on-line twilight library update and book chat session. Join us for the hour or just pop in to the conversation for a few minutes if you are busy, we’d love to see you.

With over 500,000 books on our catalogue, our stock also includes:
- Book Banding - large collection of colour banded books
- Accelerated Reading - books referencing AR quiz, point value and reading level
- Re-think Reading & BookWrites - we can supply texts to support these methods/packages
- Audio books
- Group readers - these consist of six books of the same title. We provide five sets per class per term (ordered with topics)
- Dual language
- Hi/lo texts and symbolised texts
These books are available to purchase or add to library stock through exchanges, or borrow in topic box collections.
