School Library Service

Centre news for January

Welcome back and a Happy New Year, we hope you had a fun but restful Christmas holiday. As always the school break has been a very busy time for the library service, processing topic returns and preparing your Spring topic boxes.  These will be delivered to you from 13 January, so submit your requests asap. We will be attending the Outdoor learning conference 2025 being held on 28 March at Exeter Racecourse. Come and see us and browse the various books we have available to compliment the theme 'Utilising places and spaces'.

World book day competition

This year's competition theme is 'Design a Mug!'. Take inspiration from your favourite book or character and design a mug!   For full details of the competition please follow the WBD link below. We look forward to receiving your school's best entries.

Library network meeting dates for Spring term

Our library network meetings are free of charge!!. They are led by the SLS advisory team and are a source of up-to-date information, the sharing of ideas and good practice. Secondary Wednesday 19 March at Kingsley School, Bideford Thursday 20 March at Colyton Grammar School Focus: Non-fiction collections in the Secondary Library All meetings begin at 1.30pm, book your place now.

Monday 10 February 2025 - virtual meeting

From 3.15pm to 4.15pm we will be running an on-line twilight library update and book chat session.  Join us for the hour or just pop in to the conversation for a few minutes if you are busy, we’d love to see you.
