Each month the advisory team collate lists for KS1, KS2 and Teens on topical themes.

For this month’s 15 titles we have chosen books that explore the special bond between children and their grandparents.

Our Suggested Reading lists for 2024/25 have now been updated.

The School Library Advisors have chosen the best reads for each year group from Nursery through to Year 6.

Library network meetings - Summer term

Our library network meetings are free of charge!!. They are led by the SLS advisory team and are a source of up-to-date information, the sharing of ideas and good practice.

Primary

Tuesday 14 May at White Rock Primary School with guest speaker, author Clare Helen Welsh
Wednesday 15 May is an on-line meeting only

Focus: Wellbeing and empathy book collections in school libraries.

Secondary

Wednesday 26 June at Ilfracombe Academy
Thursday 27 June at St Cuthbert Mayne School

Focus: Wellbeing and empathy book collections in school libraries.

All meetings begin at 1.30pm, book your place now.

Yoto Carnegie medal for illustration celebration event

Remember to sign up to our free event being held on 19 June at Pathfield School.

It provides an opportunity for schools to bring along a group of pupils. The event is open for pupils from Key Stages 2 and 3.
