This week’s issue contains a link to Devon County Council’s latest Adult Social Care Winter Plan which, in turn, contains a Provider Checklist, which we do, of course, encourage you to check.
We do our best to keep the content and structure of our PEN website up-to-date in these fast-changing times and your suggestions on how to improve the website are always welcome.
Devon Adult Social Care Winter Plan and Provider Checklist 2023-24
The Devon ASC Winter Plan 2023-2024 builds on the partnership approach taken since the outbreak of the covid pandemic using learning to prevent and control infections of the disease, with an increased emphasis on flu prevention in care homes and other settings while promoting the quality of life of the people we serve. It links to the NHS England (South West) Winter Resource Pack.
Additionally, the Provider Checklist serves as a practical guide, ensuring providers adhere to these standards to maintain quality care and safety. This initiative is integral to sustaining high-quality care and supporting the wellbeing of both service users and staff in care settings.
Both documents can be found here Devon County Council Winter Plan - Provider Engagement Network
DCC Day Services Consultation open until 31 December
Devon County Council would like to hear from people who have an interest in day services, now and in the future as part of the current public consultation. The council is asking for people to have their say on whether they should continue to run day services and the consultation period lasts until 31 December.
Participate in the consultation at:

Information on the consultation is also available in easy-read at Other useful information – Learning Disability Devon
Closure of Pinpoint online Community Directory
Devon County Council’s Pinpoint online community directory will no longer be available from 31 December.
While the directory has been a useful community resource, many organisations now have their own websites and are ‘findable’ by search engines, or have their own social media pages and groups. As a result fewer providers have been adding or maintaining their information to Pinpoint which has made the directory less representative of the support available in communities in Devon.
The Pinpoint web address will remain available for a period of time with a page that will be signposting to other information sources and directories.
Please complete our short DCC Leadership Survey reminder
Devon County Council’s Adul Social Care Leadership Survey is now live, and will run until the 8 December.
The survey should take you no-longer than 10 mins to complete, so please do try and find the time to response. The more people that do, the more meaningful the results.
Thank you for taking ten minutes to complete this survey:
