Congratulations to our colleague Amy Kyme, Apprenticeship and Employability Advisor, who was awarded the 'Higher or Degree Apprentice of the Year' Award for the South West region, National Apprenticeship Awards at a ceremony last week.
Amy is now through to the national finalist stage where winners from the nine regional ceremonies will be judged and the winner announced at the National Apprenticeship Awards taking place at the end of November. What a fantastic achievement for Amy to receive this regional recognition and we wish her all the best at the national awards.
Have you been thinking about your own development recently or are any of your team interested in professional development but aren't sure what's next for them? The Next Step Apprenticeship Programme could be the answer!
This programme is aimed at providing existing members of staff with an opportunity to complete a fully funded recognised apprenticeship qualification as part of their development. There are many different apprenticeship standards on offer, and they range from Level 2 to Level 7. There are over 60 apprenticeship standards at DCC right now.

With the clocks going back this Sunday 29 October, we’re reminding all road users to help play their part in keeping each other safe.
Everyone using Devon’s roads is being urged to take extra care this autumn and winter.
Motorists are asked to look out for more vulnerable road users as daylight hours are reduced and to give them plenty of time and space.
Cyclists, pedestrians, motorcyclists, and horse riders are all encouraged to “be bright, be seen”, by wearing reflective and fluorescent clothing to ensure they can be seen clearly.
