Dates for the academic year 2023 - 2024
We have some dates for this academic year to share with you so you can add them to your calendars.
Firstly, assessment dates are as follows:

Reception baseline is to be administered in the first 6 weeks after the child enters reception

Phonics screening check Monday 10 June 2024 – Friday 14 June 2024

Multiplication tables check Monday 3 June 2024 – Friday 14 June 2024
The early years foundation stage (EYFS) statutory framework was been updated for this academic year.
There are changes for the Key Stage 1 assessments this academic year. Tests and teacher assessments are optional and further details are available for you to read in full.
A Key Stage 2 assessment guide has been released with a few details of important dates. We would particularly like to highlight that schools can be notified of a KS2 moderation visit from 17 May 2024. We will also be contacting all Devon academies and free schools with our moderation and monitoring offer for the academic year 2023 – 2024. We anticipate this will be finalised and sent later in the autumn term.
We are hoping the release of the assessment and reporting arrangements (ARA) guidance will follow the same release pattern as last academic year and therefore will be released at the end of October. The guidance will be linked on our website when it is released.
Reminder that if you do not currently receive updates from the Standards and Testing Agency (STA) you can use this link to receive emails fortnightly on Tuesdays during term time. We believe they may send further emails for anything time sensitive but it is a useful source of information.
The team who update the inspection data summary reports (IDSR) have a website that can inform you of news and updates to the IDSR. There is a button labelled ‘get emails about this page’ if you wish to get notifications of updates to this website.
