School library network meetings
Dates for your diary!! This term's FREE network meetings will be held on the following dates, more details to follow.
Primary - 18th & 19th October Secondary - 15th & 16th November
In July the DfE published ‘The Reading Framework’. The reading framework - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
The objective of this is ‘to help schools meet the expectations set out in the EYFS statutory framework and the national curriculum’ and is aimed at ‘primary and secondary schools in England, other key stage 3 educators, ITT partnerships, specialist provision and others.’
The report recognises School Library Services as ‘an important resource for teachers, parents and children. They provide access to books, offer advice and training on children’s literature and provide a wide range of activities and schemes that support children’s development as readers…’
Has your school library had a refresh recently? Are you providing your pupils with a range of different reading experiences? Is your stock diverse and inclusive?
We are offering non-subscribing schools a special offer on our advisory time.

Each month the advisory team collate lists for KS1, KS2 and Teens on topical themes.
So, welcome pupils back this September and support the STEM curriculum with a collection of titles featuring robots, artificial intelligence, and computers. Our Gaming, technology and engineering booklists should provoke plenty of interesting book talk in the classroom or library.

World Fun Fair Month aims to unite Showmen from around the world and celebrate all aspects of fairgrounds, and the joy they bring to communities everywhere. It is a celebration of the industry and of the people that share a unique cultural heritage as Showmen.
We have collated a selection of stories with the theme of fun fairs which we hope will encourage conversations and the wish to find out more about Showmen.
