A Message from the DSLS aHead Professional Partners Team

Dear Colleague,

Educational Leadership is a rewarding yet incredibly challenging role and looking after the mental health and wellbeing of our school leaders is key to ensuring our schools’ success. It’s Mental Health Awareness Week next week (15-21 May 2023) and we wanted to take this opportunity to remind you of the support available from the Devon Schools Leadership Services aHead programme.

All Headteachers, Principals, Executive Headteachers and Heads of School have an allocated Professional Partner who is an experienced school leader and is available to discuss any issues that you wish to raise. They can provide confidential support and advice on all areas of school leadership and will signpost to other services if appropriate.

It’s all about you and your wellbeing, there is no reporting back so you really can discuss anything.

If you are unsure who your Professional Partner is, please contact:  aHead@devonsls.co.uk

We would also like to remind you DSLS subscribes to the Education Support Employee Assistance Programme on your behalf. This provides all Devon school leaders with free individual access to a confidential information, support and counselling service which is available 365 days a year, 24 hours a day via a dedicated  telephone number 0800 0856 148 (quote Devon Schools Leadership Services).

Working in partnership with Education Support, DSLS has also negotiated discounted rates for Devon schools wishing to invest in an Employee Assistance Programme for their own team of staff. Please contact the DSLS Office office@devonsls.co.uk for more information.

With very best wishes from the DSLS ahead Professional Partners Team
