 COVID-19 vaccinations available this summer
Children aged five to 11 years old are eligible for a COVID-19 vaccination and there are lots of opportunities to get vaccinated this summer. Some of this age group who have already been vaccinated will now be due for their second dose.
Vaccinating children can effectively prevent the worst effects of COVID-19, including against severe illness such as long COVID.
Bookings can be made online or by calling 119. Alternatively, there are plenty of walk-in clinics during the school holidays that are advertised on NHS England’s site finder and on our social media channels.
The government has published a vaccination guide for parents of children aged five to 11 years old, online.
It’s also not too late for others who haven’t yet had their jabs, including older brothers and sisters, and mums and dads.
Vaccinations are available to any eligible person over the age of five, including anyone not registered with a GP practice. Vaccination is the most effective way to prevent falling seriously ill with COVID-19.
