We’re publishing this issue on the day before the Platinum Jubilee Holiday and we hope those of you who are taking a break have a great time. We also express our ongoing thanks to everyone who’s working over this holiday period, as we do all year round.
We do our best to keep the content and structure of our PEN website up-to-date in these fast-changing times and your suggestions on how to improve the website are always welcome.
Proud to Care Retention Research focus groups and survey
Proud to Care are now recommencing the Retention Research amongst care staff in adult social care, funded by Health Education England, following a postponement due to the high volume of Covid cases and high levels of staff absence. Transform Research has been commissioned to carry out this work across the whole of Devon.
Focus groups will be held between 13-21 June with £10 voucher for participants, and there is an online survey for staff, which is now live.
This attachment contains the joining link and background for care staff and the second attachment provides further information for employers.
The full report from this research will be shared you. It will also inform the wider retention research in the NHS across the Integrated Care System for Devon (ICSD).

Cost of Care update – participants still needed
As announced in our last issue, Devon County Council is required to meet the Conditions for access to Fair Cost of Care funding or our area.
The Cost of Care exercise means we will be surveying local providers to determine a sustainable fee rate and the results need to be comprehensive, accurately reflect local costs and appear in the public domain.
We have established a Cost of Care Steering Group and we will update you on Group decisions shortly, thank you to those providers who are working with us in this group.
We are also establishing task and finish groups on specific issues and they are still opportunities for providers to join these groups.
To express interest, please email socialcarebusinessrelations-mailbox@devon.gov.uk
