 DCC Schools Survey
On 1 August 2022 Babcock Staff and DCC teams will come together to provide one Integrated Service. How the teams will work together from this date reflects the feedback from the consultations and design work done in 2020, the SEND transformation roadshows and other learning from feedback through the steering group. The new integrated structure will bring the Babcock and DCC staff together around key themes while also leaving space to focus on strategies for specific groups of children. The local authority now wants to ensure that moving forward it continues to reflect the needs of schools and children. DCC is therefore asking schools to complete this survey which will provide them with a good understanding of what is working well currently and what could be done better or differently in future.
This is a real opportunity for you to be involved in helping DCC develop what its services will look like in the future and the results of this survey will be used by managers to shape ongoing work.

The survey has been set up so that you can save responses and return to it at any time. The fields are mandatory but you can enter ‘not applicable’ if they are not relevant to your provision.
The survey will close on Friday 27 May.

SEND Multi-agency Moderating Panel
Request for support from schools and other education settings from Jackie Ross, Interim Deputy and SEND Strategic Director
A multi-agency moderating panel has recently been established to consider requests for EHC needs assessments, to ensure a robust and holistic approach to managing the threshold for assessment and to ensure that children and young people get the right support at the right time.
The panel meets virtually via MS Teams every Wednesday morning 9.00 -11.30 am and comprises the SEND 0-25 service, Inclusion, Early Years, Health and Social Care colleagues.
DCC would value the insights and experience of schools and other educational settings at this panel and would therefore like to encourage headteacher and SENDCo involvement - one headteacher and one SENDCo each week.
Training will be provided which will comprise a briefing/training session from Jackie Ross as well as learning ‘on the job’ for which support will be provided. If you are interested in being on a rota, please contact: heidi.watson-jones@devon.gov.uk.
