Power outages - support to vulnerable people

Thank you for all of your efforts over the weekend to ensure the safety of service users who experienced a power outage as a result of storms Eunice and Franklin. This is the biggest such event in history in Devon and Cornwall and Western Power is working very hard to restore power to all households across the county as soon as possible. Their focus today is on restoring power to those who lost power on Friday and Saturday and will include installing community generators wherever possible. They are also trying to address more recent outages at the same time.

Whilst this major incident continues, can you please let your local Care Direct Plus (CDP) office know if any of the people you provide services to are without power, unsafe and in need of additional support. Here are the CDP email addresses:

Please note that if the people you support are on the Priority Customer List for Western Power, they will also have been contacted over the weekend and offered support such as vouchers for hot food and in extremis a stay in a hotel. If they are not on that priority list they might wish to apply to be registered on it.  Western Power can be contacted by dialling 105.

For any issues which arise outside usual business hours please contact our Emergency Duty Team on 0345 600 0388.
