Devon's SEND Strategy and New SEND Delivery Proposals

Seeking practitioners views on delivering SEND services in Devon

Wednesday 28 April 1.00pm – 3.15pm

Thursday 29 April 10.00am – 12.15pm

Dear Colleagues,

You may be aware that Devon are working on a new SEND strategy and DSLS representatives have been regularly attending meetings to support the development of this model. We know that there is a significant funding gap in SEND need and resources and therefore, we need to consider if it is time to start taking a different approach. Devon County Council have arranged virtual roadshows on the 28 and 29 April where they will explain the new strategy and seek feedback.

We would strongly recommend that you, and/or representatives from your school, attend a roadshow so we can get a wide range of ideas that will help Devon to shape their final model. Solutions to the challenges we face in meeting the needs of children and young people with SEND can only be found by working collaboratively together across agencies and we hope this will be the start of finding a new way forward.
