Supporting health and social care providers in Devon

12 February 2021

Care staff mass vaccination booking service

As stated in yesterday’s PEN Newsletter, Department of Health & Social Care has now written to all care providers stating that from Friday 11 February, initially for a period of 2 weeks, all eligible frontline care workers can also access their first vaccination via the National Booking Service. This provides an additional way for employers and eligible frontline social care workers to access an appointment at a time and place that is convenient for them. Staff can access the National Booking Service online or by calling 119.

In order to demonstrate that they are eligible for vaccination, staff can now also use a recent letter from their employer, along with photo identification, which confirms their place of work. For those who do not have a work photo ID, then a letter from their employer together with another form of photo ID will also be accepted.

For urgent enquires about staff vaccination bookings please email us.

Advice for frontline social care staff on second vaccinations - UPDATE on RD&E

Your flexibility in attending your second dose appointment on the date given in the letter is appreciated to ensure we can meet the ongoing demand for both first and second doses. The revised letter from the RD&E Hospital does provide an RD&E email contact that you can use if in exceptional circumstances a staff member is unable to attend the date of the second dose vaccination, as shown in the letter. The Hospital staff will do all they can to re-schedule the appointment to a convenient date and time in these exceptional circumstances.
