We're looking for Proud to Care Ambassadors, staff and students, who are under 30 years old, to feature in our next joint health and care recruitment campaign film aimed at attracting young people, age 16-25 years, to professional, clinical and registered careers and education in health and care. We're particularly keen to hear from social workers, registered managers, nurses from all settings (including mental health, community, primary care and nursing homes), allied health professionals and students from these areas. Filming is likely to take place one day between Monday 24th February and Friday 6th March. If you're interested in finding out more, please contact Nicola.dunn@devon.gov.uk as soon as possible.
As I mentioned last month, we're pleased to be hosting four joint health and care recruitment events in March 2020. Now is your opportunity to get involved as a Proud to Care Ambassador. Please email proudtocare@devon.gov.uk if you can help for a couple of hours, either welcoming people or helping out on the Proud to Care stand.

Saturday 14th March - Petroc North Devon Campus, Barnstaple

Thanks to all Ambassadors who attended the public speaking workshops in November. The workshops covered how to deal with nerves, communicating confidently with others, and telling your story to an audience. We’re really pleased that feedback was positive “Really challenging and enjoyable. Feel very proud of myself for pushing boundaries of my comfort zone” and “I already feel much more confident about putting these techniques and strategies into practice”. We hope that following the workshops Ambassadors feel more confident speaking at events and putting their learning into practice.
We have one further public speaking workshop planned for 24th March from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm at Barnstaple Library. If you would like to attend please email proudtocare@devon.gov.uk
Is there anything else that would support you in your role as an Ambassador?
Please let us know at proudtocare@devon.gov.uk
