DAPH / DASH key messages and updates

  • SEND and AP provision: call for evidence - DfE open consultation, inviting individuals and organisations to consider how the SEND and AP financial arrangements in England could be improved (closes 31 July 2019).
  • Apprenticeships - Survey of Community and Voluntary Controlled Schools to inform DCC's apprenticeship work (survey is open until Friday 17 May 2019). Additionally, DAPH  has been working with Exeter College with a view to launching a Devon Education offer in respect of apprenticeships - further details to follow.
  • Relaunch of the current Schools Leadership Support Services (SLSS) - details to follow.
  • Devon Schools Leadership Services (DSLS) - papers are submitted for CIO registration with a view to being operational alongside DAPH and DASH from September 2019.
  • School funding - working with Cllr James McInnes in his capacity as f40 Chair and DCC Cabinet Member for Children's Services & Schools with a view to holding headteacher meetings with the eight Devon MPs. Request for schools to host will follow.
  • Active Devon - a community focussed, not for profit organisation, inspiring and supporting the people of Devon to lead active lifestyles. Active Devon is looking to engage with 50 primary schools across Devon to spend time in schools to understand and support the schools outcomes. If your school is interested, please contact Jo Colin – Director of Strategic Relationships for Active Devon - via email jo.colin@activedevon.org to register interest by Friday 24th May 2019.
