A reminder to everyone that Wednesday 13th March is National No Smoking Day.
We can all help to encourage Devon smokers to use National No Smoking Day as their springboard to a new quit attempt. As we all know the most successful attempts to stopping smoking are the ones where people get the right support so please direct anyone who wants to quit to our local Stop Smoking Service - One Small Step.
A variety of campaign resources are available now from Public Health England to support the day including some great resources from the 'Today is the day' campaign.
The latest Smokefree Devon Alliance Steering Group meeting was held on 4th March and chaired by Director of Public Health, Dr Virginia Pearson. We were pleased to see so many partner organisations from across the county in attendance.
During the meeting Alliance members discussed progress that has been made towards the current Action Plan. Minutes from the meeting will soon be available on the Smokefree Devon website.
The next meeting will be held at County Hall, Devon County Council on Monday 1st July 2019. We would like to hear from partners who are working on Action Plan Priority area 3: Creating and supporting smokefree organisations, particularly NHS organisations.
