Devon Music Education Hub (DMEH) meeting 14.01.19
Feedback to schools from the recent meeting included:-
- The DMEH board feel that there have been too many years where approximately 50% of schools don’t respond to show how money is impacting on music so the Arts Council evidence is becoming ever more hard to gather and therefore the future funding becomes more vulnerable.
N O T E | since the DMEH meeting, members of the DAPH Executive have suggested that the process for allocating music grant funding is reviewed notably with incoming Chair and any revisions are communicated to schools.
- New discussions from Nick Gibb about a new music curriculum may create issues in teacher subject knowledge and capacity (e.g. teaching notation in KS2).
