In making changes, it is intended that settings amend their current SCR to minimise any additional workload or the need to transfer information from our 2017 version. Additional capital funding for 2018 to 2019
Following the recent announcement in the Autumn Budget Statement for an extra £400m for schools in England, further information can be found at:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/capital-allocations/capital-funding-for-2018-to-2019
It is essential that the funds be treated as Capital and used for improvements, rather than major capital projects, and it is to be expended in the financial year 2018 to 2019. However, the normal terms of devolved formula capital will apply which provide some flexibility for schools to spend the funding over the following 2 financial years if necessary.
To view the objectives, Terms of Reference and minutes of meetings for School Organisation, Capital and Admissions (SOCA), which is a sub-group of Devon Education Forum, visit the SOCA website.

DCFP Education Advisory Group meeting 05.11.18
Feedback to schools following the recent meeting includes:-
Safeguarding Audits - schools are asked to complete Section 10 LGQBT questions realistically as DCFP Board is aware that it is an area many schools still need to develop. Evidence from the audit will enable the Board to commission additional CPD to support schools.
Devon & Torbay Suicide Prevention strategy - we are advised the courses to provide free training for school staff are oversubscribed. These sessions were aimed at secondary phase but could be relevant to KS2 within primary but we are hopeful that further training will be available and we are possibly looking at including an overview at the summer Briefing.
