A big thank you to Proud to Care Ambassadors, Leanne Ashmead
(Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust), Stephanie Johnson (Time 2
Care), Gill Smith (Age Concern) and Rosie Mainwaring (Skills for Care) for
sharing Devon STP’s successful involvement in the national pilot for integrated
health and social care ambassadors at Skills for Care’s office in London.
Representatives from several London boroughs attended and are interested in
following in Devon’s footsteps.
The evaluation of the pilot showed that health and social
care providers in Devon had improved their integrated working and increased the
share of the audience interested in a career in the sector by 23%. 82% of
ambassadors had increased their confidence and 68% felt more motivated in their
work, as a result of being a Proud to Care Ambassador. Audiences now had
a better understanding of the different types of jobs and career pathways in
health and social care.
We now have 132 Proud to Care Ambassadors from health and
social care providers in Devon. Please contact proudtocaredevon@devon.gov.uk ,
if you want to nominate any colleagues to become an Ambassador and promote
working in the health and social care sector at schools, colleges,
universities, job centre and apprenticeship events.

“Speed-dating was really interesting. It was good to meet other health and care professionals in Devon.”
“Now I’m aware of the resources available that will be invaluable to use.”
“I’m feeling proud and inspired.”
