Review of Provision for Special Educational Needs

and Disabilities (SEND)

In accordance with Devon's SEND Strategy and implementation plan, Devon County Council is undertaking an annual review of education provision for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities for whom DCC has responsibility.

As part of the review, the Council is undertaking a short series of surveys during the Autumn 2017, to obtain feedback from as many of those directly involved as possible. The outcomes from the review will directly impact on education provided in the future.

We want to know what is going well, identify what can be done better, set clear priority areas for improvement and so improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

We are consulting with a range of stakeholders and want to obtain feedback from as many of those directly involved as possible, including parents/carers, children and young people and education providers.

Please complete the questionnaires as a provider of education. Additionally, where possible please promote the questionnaires which are available for children & young people and parents/carers.

Accessibility Survey

Below are two surveys: one is designed for children, young people and their families and the other is for education providers. Both surveys look at accessibility.

Accessibility Survey for Education Providers

This is about children and young people with a disability, specifically to:

  • increase the extent to which pupils with a disability can participate in the curriculum;
  • improve the physical environment of schools to increase the extent to which disabled pupils can take advantage of education and associated services; and
  • improve the delivery of information to pupils with a disability
