Emergency Planning

Planning for a flu pandemic – exercise Leda
Ensuring that the Council can continue to operate when external factors have an impact on our work is very important. Last week, colleagues considered the implications of a flu pandemic on the work we do. (PDF version)

Join a national Emergency Planning workshop
On Wednesday 21 October we are hosting a national humanitarian assistance event on behalf of the Emergency Planning Society. Speakers include two survivors of 7/7.

At this workshop, we are particularly interested in looking at the effects of emergencies on children and young people and the help and care that will be needed to support them

We are proud to launch our latest staff seasonal flu vaccination programme with a campaign starring members of staff and our Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing. Once again we are encouraging all *front line health and social care staff to get the free flu jab. (*Ask your manager if you are eligible).

Generator test
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding around the annual generator test at County Hall which took place between 10.00am and 4.00pm on Wednesday 7 October. It did however highlight an important reminder about email distribution groups

New vehicle hire contract
The sole contract for cars and passenger vehicles has been awarded to Enterprise rent-a-car, and the sole contract for light commercial vehicles has been awarded to Thrifty Car and Van Rental.

The parade will assemble on Cathedral Green tomorrow (Saturday 10 October) before leaving at 1.15pm to proceed along the High Street to Exeter Fanzone in Northernhay Gardens. A choreographed finale will take place in Exeter Fanzone before the start of the Samoa v Scotland match at 2.30pm. Please come and join in and show the world that Exeter knows how to celebrate!
