Schools must check/update their SEN Co-ordinator (including any end dates), Newly Qualified Teachers and any qualifications within SAP in preparation for the forthcoming school workforce census. Please see guidance. Due to payroll lockdown, please ensure any updates are completed by the deadline of 30 September 2026.
Holiday and attendance penalty notices - reminder
The penalty notice toolkit has been updated for the new school term and this is now available in the September General folder on Perspective Lite. Please ensure this is shared with all staff who manage attendance. Penalty notice requests for holidays that took place at the end of the summer term will be accepted until the end of September.

New Halo offering for Free School Meal queries - September release
From September we will be introducing a new service on the Halo for Schools portal that enables you to request support with FSM reports available through SAM. This service can be used to raise queries regarding the addition or removal of children from your reports, as well as to report any issues with the reports themselves. Please note that queries relating to eligibility status must continue to be raised directly with the Checking Service. Further information, including the link to the offering, will be communicated in September.
New Halo offering for SAM Amend User Access - September release
From September we will be introducing a new service on the Halo for Schools portal that enables you to request changes to your SAM users. This service replaces the Excel form that was previously sent to our Information Enquires team. Further information, including the link to the offering, will be communicated in September.
National Numeracy is recruiting primary schools to participate in the fully funded schools and families programme. A short webinar with more detailed information about the programme will be held on 17 September 2026, starting at 12:30pm.
