Thank you to everyone who took part in forums and filled in our online Your Council Your Voice survey for residents. We're now looking at your responses and we'll report back to you towards the end of the year.
As part of our annual residents’ survey Your Council Your Voice, in addition to the online survey we’ve been running, we held in-person and online sessions where we’ve heard views, had in-depth discussions and answered questions from residents across the county.
Our Council Leader Cllr Alan Graves and our Chief Executive Neil Crittenden addressed the public session at County Hall and there was time at the end to answer questions direct from the floor.
Now the consultation has closed we’ll be looking closely at all your views and ideas which will feed into our future planning and direction.

Our new library in Staveley has officially opened its doors to the public in the Pavilion building in the town’s Market Place.
The new Pavilion building is modern, multi-purpose and sustainable, with energy-efficient features, fitting in with our Derbyshire Library Strategy agreed at the beginning of last year.
Our aim is to deliver a library service that is fit for the 21st century, is able to meet the needs of customers and puts our libraries at the heart of their communities.
The new library is on the ground floor of the Pavilion, and is part of Chesterfield Borough Council’s Staveley 21 project, funded through the Staveley Town Deal. We’ve worked closely with the borough council on the library element of the project, including finalising detailed designs.

Tens of thousands of new trees have been planted across the county as Derbyshire’s Heartwood Community Forest successfully completes its second planting season.
Derbyshire’s Heartwood Community Forest aims to increase tree cover across eastern, north-eastern and southern Derbyshire and Derby, connecting landscapes, people and wildlife.
Tree planting brings a wide range of benefits, from improving biodiversity to supporting farming, enhancing landscapes, and creating new green spaces for communities.
Through this government-funded scheme, landowners, farmers, schools and community groups can access fully funded support for woodland and hedgerow creation, including design, planting and maintenance for up to 15 years.
Building on the success of its first year, the programme has planted more than 80,000 trees across 60 hectares at 47 sites during this second planting season, stretching from Dronfield to Draycott.

Calling all bargain hunters! A pop-up reuse shop will open at our household waste recycling centre in Ashbourne next month.
From furniture and homeware to garden equipment, books, CDs and vinyl, there’s a host of pre-loved items ready for a new home – so why not pop along to the centre on Mayfield Road and bag yourself a deal.

We've made improvements to Bretby Household Waste Recycling Centre to make visiting the site a better experience for Derbyshire residents.
We've changed the layout so that it creates more than double the current number of parking spaces, taking the total to 15, and we've expanded the amount of waste that can be stored on site to reduce disruption from lorry movements.
Staff will be on hand to help residents and to direct traffic through a new one-way system to make entering and leaving the site easier.
Anyone using our household waste recycling centres needs to register their vehicle in advance to show they live in Derbyshire. Registering is quick, easy and free of charge – either online at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/recyclingcentres or by contacting Call Derbyshire on telephone 01629 533190.
Excitement is building as Derbyshire marks exactly one year to go until the world’s top female cyclists take on Stage 2 of the Tour De France Femmes Avec Zwift, through some of the county’s most iconic landscapes.
The riders will race along roads such as Winnats Pass and Snake Pass on Stage 2 of the route between Manchester and Sheffield through Derbyshire, on Saturday 31 July 2027.
We're busy preparing for the major international sporting event, which will attract thousands of spectators on both television and in person from across the UK and beyond.
Further information about the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift route and Derbyshire's involvement will be shared as planning progresses.
