If your children get free school meals they can also get free fun activities this summer.
 It’s About Me, Derbyshire’s Holiday Activity and Food Programme (HAF), is back again for the school summer holidays. The HAF programme is open to children from reception to year 11 who receive benefits-related free school meals.
There are also activities available for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. More information can be found at SEND Information - It's About Me.
For young people who can't attend in person, the project also offers remote packs which have activities for all children.
Eligible families can get their code from their school and full details of how to book can be found on the It's About Me website.
Bookings open on Monday 29 June – but be quick as places are limited.
During the Easter holidays, It’s About Me organised 134 holiday clubs attended by almost 5,000 eligible children. Another 1,050 accessed remote activities.
Drivers heading to the beautiful Peak District this weekend are advised the Snake Pass will be temporarily reopened for the next two days.
Due to the good weather, our team are ahead of schedule with their vital A57 Snake Pass investigations and are reopening it from around 6am on Saturday, 20 June until 9am on Monday, June 22.
The road has been closed between Glossop and Ladybower Reservoir since June 15 for important investigations into the Doctor’s Gate landslip. Repairs and safety improvements are also being carried out at the same time with the road due to reopen on Friday, July 3.
We’d like to thank everyone for their patience while this work is carried out and we’ll keep you updated with any changes.
Our contractor is applying new white lines along the route in the early hours of Saturday morning, which means this is the earliest time we can temporarily reopen the road.

Are you a shop, business or organisation that would like to help people feel safer when they’re out and about? If so, we’d love you to join our Safe Place Scheme.
A Safe Place is somewhere people can go if they need help, are lost or feel scared when out in the community.
All Derbyshire-based businesses and organisations can become Safe Places including shops, leisure centres, cafés / restaurants and visitor attractions.
A Safe Place can help with things like calling family members or the emergency services and offering a safe area for people to wait until help arrives.
You’ll get a Safe Places sticker to display, and your venue will be listed on the Safe Places app.
Belper Town Council is the latest venue to sign up. They said: “We’re proud to be part of such a valuable scheme. The council has joined on behalf of our active Accessibility Working Group who champion accessibility throughout the whole of the town. Now that the council office is based more centrally in the town, we felt it important to offer our services to the Safe Places scheme to help members of the public should they need it.”
