More roads in Derbyshire will be resurfaced after local councillors put forward those residential roads most needing repair in their areas. In total, 19 roads will be resurfaced at a cost of £3 million.
We’re able to fund these road schemes by making our highways service more efficient and reinvesting the savings directly into residential areas.
They're in addition to previously announced roadworks included in our £70m capital programme.
We're investing £4.5 million in schools across Derbyshire to create more space and make the learning environment better for students.
A total of 18 schools will receive a cash injection from us towards ongoing or new projects to modernise or expand.
Councillors agreed to allocate £3.1 million from the Children’s Services Capital Budget to 10 schools to improve the condition of buildings including roofing, new windows, boilers or rewiring.
Cabinet also agreed to give funding totalling £1.143 million to five schools to create extra classroom space or provide multiple-purpose spaces in areas where there is greatest demand for places.

We're set to invest an additional £155,000 this winter to help residents stay warm, reduce homelessness and support communities facing rising living costs.
The money will strengthen three vital county-wide initiatives tackling fuel poverty, homelessness and winter pressures on health and wellbeing.

We're giving £100,000 extra funding to food banks and community pantries across the county to help support vulnerable residents.
By strengthening local food support networks, we aim to ensure families have access to nutritious food and improve the quality of life for people across the county.
Since March 2020 we've provided a series of grants totalling £1.35 million to support food banks.
This additional funding, due to run until 31 March 2026, will be delivered through Foundation Derbyshire which will administer the grants to local food banks and community pantries across the county.

Our libraries are extending their successful Know Your Neighbourhood project to South Normanton thanks to additional funding.
Know Your Neighbourhood focuses on encouraging people to get out to their local library – even if they haven't been before – get to know their community, and try out free activities, groups and events.
The project has already made a huge impact in Bolsover and Shirebrook, where more than 100 events have taken place including talks, writing groups, craft workshops, games and even laughter therapy.
In South Normanton, weaving, felt making, coffee and chat sessions, reading groups and sensory play for babies are already taking place.
