Action Required


Household Support Fund (HSF) grocery voucher data request – deadline 21 November 2025

Schools will be emailed, and also a letter placed in the Perspective Lite November General folder, requesting data and up-to-date parent contact details for children eligible to receive a free grocery voucher as part of the Council’s Household Support Fund distribution.

Please note that data must be submitted by 21 November 2025. For any questions, please email HSFVouchers@derbyshire.gov.uk


School Workforce Census 2025 – Thursday 6 November 2025

Over the next few weeks the LA will be contacting all LA maintained schools to complete this census on their behalf. Schools are not required to do anything other than keep a log of the following:

  • Details of any teacher vacancies at your school on census day.
  • The number of supply teachers in school on census day, split by category of qualified/unqualified/not known.
  • The number of third party support staff, that is, support staff not directly employed by a school or local authority (for example, cleaners employed by a contract cleaning company)

Flexi-schooling survey – deadline 5 December 2025

Attendance, Missing, and Home Education Service is collating some information about schools in Derbyshire who offer flexi-schooling and how many young people have these arrangements. Please do take the time to fill out the flexi-schooling survey – regardless of whether your school offers this as an option currently. Your engagement is appreciated.

Local government reorganisation update

Thanks to everyone who gave their views on options for reducing the number of councils in Derby and Derbyshire from 10 to 2, under plans by national government to simplify the system. Councillors will now be asked to consider proposing one single council for the whole of Derby and Derbyshire as their preferred option for local government reorganisation at a Full Council meeting on 13 November 2025

Inspection ready for governors

An online session, to allow governors to learn about Ofsted's state-funded school inspection toolkit and the inspection process. The target audience is all governors but especially for chairs of governance.

Derbyshire Early Years Special Education Needs - Introduction to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

Online training for newly registered Early Years providers and those wishing to refresh their knowledge and understanding of their statutory requirements for SEND.
