The third round of the Childcare Expansion Capital Grant Funding is now open. Capital Grant Funding is available to support the sufficiency of early entitlement places for children within the age range of 9-months to the term in which a child turns 3-years-old. The maximum funding per project through this grant is £80,000. Further guidance relating to this funding programme (issued by the Department for Education) can be found on the GOV.UK website.
Please email: CS.SufficiencyService@derbyshire.gov.uk for more information or an Expression of Interest Form. The closing date for Expression of Interest forms is 28 September 2025.
National Child Measurement Programme
Live Life Better Derbyshire has been asked by NHS England to deliver the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP). A letter with further information has been sent to Headteachers of all primary, infant, junior and academy schools via Perspective Lite General folder. The NCMP team will contact parents directly, please do not send any letters to parents.

Derbyshire Services for Schools

This online course is designed to ensure governors in schools are able to meet their responsibilities with regard to the Equality Act 2010 and the increased emphasis upon equality within the new Ofsted framework.
17 September 2025 – 6pm to 8pm
An online and condensed version of the full day course covering the role of the governing board, governors and school improvement and how governing boards work is split into two modules - delegates need to participate in both.
Day 1 – 23 September 2025 – 6pm to 8pm. Day 2 – 29 September 2025 – 6pm to 8pm.
An online course which aims to introduce you to the role of chair, and help you develop to become an effective leader of your board.
24 September 2025 – 6pm to 8pm
A 90-minute online briefing session will provide English subject leaders and senior leaders with a clear, practical overview of the DfE’s 2025 Writing Framework.
23 September 2025 – 1pm to 2:30pm
Online sessions with important updates and support for subject leaders with responsibility for infant, junior or primary phases.
