HR Advisory Service Support Staff Appraisal Policy presentation available

Schools were provided with a Support Staff Appraisal Policy last year, and HR have now published a 15-minute presentation to support this policy. The presentation, which can be viewed by subscribers to the Schools HR Advisory Service, is available to access on the Training and Support section of Resources.

Revised HR Services policies

A revised Maternity, Paternity, Adoption and Parental Leave Scheme has now been agreed, and is available for schools to access. A revised Teacher Appraisal Policy and Redundancy and Restructure Policy and Procedure is also available for subscribers to the Schools HR Advisory Service.

Starting Point open day

The next Starting Point open day will take place on 9 October 2025 at County Hall, Matlock in the Members room – 10am to 3pm. Attendance is required for the full day to ensure a complete learning experience. This is an excellent opportunity for practitioners to spend time with us, to develop an understanding of demand and process at Derbyshire’s front door service.

There will be an opportunity to hear from police, health and probation staff, as well as the Family Help Service, to provide an understanding of how they work collaboratively with partner agencies.

If you would like to book a place on this event please email both: Chloe.brittain@derbyshire.gov.uk and Susan.walsh@derbyshire.gov.uk

NHS Pharmacy First

The NHS Pharmacy First service is available to help children in Derbyshire with common ailments, providing consultations and treatment from local pharmacies without the need for a GP visit. Please share with parents and carers, so that they are aware of the common conditions for which children and adults can seek advice and treatment from a local pharmacy rather than their GP.

Update for secondary schools from the Sexual Health Promotion Team in Derby and Derbyshire
