Provisional numbers 2025-26 intakes

The closing date for on time applications for both Reception and Junior intakes has now passed. All on time applications for Derbyshire children are now included in your school’s numbers on SAM. If you are a school which receives out county preferences, then these will be added as received so please check your numbers regularly.

Please also read the information included on the notice if you are a school which wishes to take additional pupils above your Published Admission Number.

You are reminded that all information must remain confidential until after National Offer Day, when parents will be notified of the outcome of their applications.


Vape Free School initiative

The Vape Free School initiative provides schools with a range of opportunities to support them across the 8 principles of the Whole School Approach including: Leadership and management, curriculum, teaching and learning, pupil voice, staff development and wellbeing, identifying need and monitoring impact, working with parents and carers, targeted support and ethos and environment.


National Numeracy: funded opportunity for primary schools - deadline 2 February 2025

National Numeracy are recruiting primary schools to participate in the fully funded schools and families programme from April 2025. Please see further details and how to apply.

Using alternative provision safely and effectively, considering safeguarding and Ofsted

This online course looks at the use of alternative provision (AP). It outlines the line-of-sight schools must have when using AP, what is good practice, and shares resources to secure robust compliance, quality assurance, and commissioning of AP.

5 February 2025 – 10am to midday.


Developing the foundations: Writing in the Early Years

This 2-hour online training session has been developed to address the fundamental building blocks of early learning as outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This innovative program emphasises the prime areas that are crucial for children's holistic development. 

6 February 2025 – 10am to midday


The Coriell Award – Spring term

This online session will focus on alcohol. The Talk about trust will deliver training on delivering alcohol education as part of the school PD programme. They will provide free lesson plans and teaching materials.

6 February 2025 - 1pm to 3pm


Preparing for Ofsted for Governors - Virtual event

An online training session to ensure that the Governing Board is fully aware of Ofsted’s expectations and are prepared for the inspection process.
