We're busy planning across all our departments as we prepare to set our budget next February.
Over the past few months we've been identifying financial pressures we're under, as well as savings we could make, as part of the budget-setting process.
Following this work, savings proposals have been drawn up and are now being considered at a senior level with a view to them being presented to our Cabinet on Thursday 11 January 2024.
Responses from our Your Council Your Voice consultation, which is open until Sunday 17 December, will also be used to feed into the main budget-setting process, so if you haven't filled it in yet, please do.

Single bus fares are still only £2, saving you money this Christmas and beyond.
Whether you're planning a trip to the panto, venturing to the high street for Christmas shopping or heading out for a night on the town, you can get there and back, safely and cheaply, on the bus.
The £2 single fare scheme is funded by the Government and is in place until 31 December next year.
The scheme is available on most services across Derbyshire.

The East Midlands is set to be boosted by £4 billion, after we, and other councils in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, gave the go-ahead for devolution.
The deal also means more control over transport, skills and adult education, housing, the environment and economic development across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Derby and Nottingham.
Residents will also get the chance to vote for the first-ever Mayor for the new East Midlands Combined County Authority next May.
The EMCCA is set to come into existence in March next year, if parliament passes the necessary legislation.

We’re working with partners in Ashbourne on an exciting transformation of the town.
“Ashbourne Reborn”, was developed through close working with local partners including Derbyshire Dales District Council, the county council, Ashbourne Town Team, Ashbourne Town Council, AshCom, and Ashbourne Methodist Church.
Partners are now developing more detailed plans for the two-year development project focused on three distinct project areas.
The first is a series of transformed public spaces including Market Place, Victoria Square, Millennium Square and Shrovetide Walk, while the second project focuses on a new community hub, transforming the Methodist Church into a multi-purpose community building. The hub will provide a wide range of event and meeting spaces, a performance venue and flexible work areas with high quality digital provision.
New traffic management plans will transform the pedestrian experience in Ashbourne by widening pavements and providing new and improved crossings as part of the third project.
To find out more follow Ashbourne Reborn on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter – and sign up for free email updates (tick the Ashbourne Reborn option).
The money come from a government grant from its Levelling Up Fund of £13.4m, and the total project will cost £15.2m. The difference of £1.8m is made up of various funding that different partners have committed to spend alongside the government grant.
