Sign up for snow emails

Did you know that you can sign up to receive emails that tell you if main roads are closed because of snow or ice?

sign up for snow emails

You’ll also get emails as the roads are re-opened again. Just visit our website and enter your email address.

As temperatures start to drop it’s worth a look at the snow pages on our website.

We grit and clear snow and ice from around 1,500 miles of roads across Derbyshire and you can visit our website to find out which roads we grit and when, how to report a problem with a grit bin, get winter driving and riding tips and read a checklist of things you can do to help elderly and vulnerable neighbours this winter.

Working to protect motorists

trading standards officer checks petrol pump

Spot checks at petrol station pumps across Derbyshire have been carried out by our trading standards officers to make sure motorists are getting what they paid for – and the good news is you are.

Our trading standards officers spent six months earlier this year carrying out the checks at a number of petrol stations around the county.

Officers tested 147 petrol pumps at eight sites, as part of a cost of living project. They were happy to report that all the pumps tested were found to be correctly delivering fuel within the permitted legal tolerances.
