Distribution of DPCV newsletters by SENCOs in all schools
Derbyshire Parent Carer Voice (DPCV) newsletters will be delivered to all school SENCO’s by DCC during week commencing 25 September 2023. Please distribute the newsletters as soon as possible to ensure that every child with additional needs on your census receives a copy of the newsletter to take home to their family – parent or carer.
DfE have shared information for schools to pass to parents relating to when is it appropriate for parents and carers to send their children to school with a mild illness.
The COLLECT test site is now available for schools to use until 4pm on Friday 29 September. Schools are strongly advised to load a test file from their management information system (MIS) into COLLECT during the testing process.

With a rise in the number of children vaping, Better Health have created teaching resources aimed at helping Key Stage 3 children understand the impact that vaping has on their physical and mental wellbeing.
We are now able to provide schools with information in relation to the proposed industrial action announced by the NASUWT.
An update on changes that have been made in relation to the forms to be used for DBS Trace information, Risk Assessments for a new employee or volunteer prior to receipt of a DBS check and Certificate of Good Conduct exemptions is now available to subscribers from the Schools HR Advisory Service.

Derbyshire County Council’s Community Safety Unit are pleased to be working with Education Data Hub to support 'Cyber Security Awareness Month', and are hosting a free Cyber Security Webinar for Schools on Tuesday 10 October from 4pm to 4.30pm.
This event will focus on the key recommendations of the framework and explore the implications for reading provision in KS2. This event is suitable for headteachers, and leaders and teachers of reading in KS2.
