As you're travelling around the county this summer you may come across teams of workers giving our dual carriageways a spruce up.
The annual 'spring' clean of dual carriageways in Derbyshire starts in July.
We give them a good tidy, a verge trim, clear drains and fix potholes, working with our friends from district and borough councils.
We used to do this earlier in the year, but now delay this until later in the summer to give plants in the verges time to flower or seed.
Some roads will be closed, some have lane closures, but we'll be avoiding the busiest times of the day/week where we can.
Do you know a young person in Chesterfield or surrounding areas who might need some support to get into work or training?
YES Derbyshire (Youth Employment Support), is a joint initiative between us and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to help young people aged 16 to 24 to take advantage of a range of support services to help move into employment or training.
Together we've developed an inviting and engaging space called the Youth Hub, offering one-to-one appointments with qualified advisors to help young people explore their options on jobs and training, as well as health and wellbeing. The aim is to provide an alternative space away from the Job Centre.
If this doesn't apply to you but you'd like some careers advice, anyone in Derbyshire can get help from our careers service.
Young people leaving our care will soon be able to save money on their household bills after we secured an agreement with one of the UK’s largest water companies.
We've joined Severn Trent’s ‘Big Difference Scheme’ which can help customers who are on a low income and struggling to pay their water charges.
The plan will see discounts extended to hundreds of young people across Derbyshire aged between 18 and 24, reducing their average yearly water bill by 70 per cent, when they leave care.

Saturday is Armed Forces Day, a chance for us to show our support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community, from currently serving troops to families, veterans and cadets.
To mark and celebrate the day we’ll be flying the Armed Forces Day flag at County Hall and lighting up the building in red, white and blue.
When the weather warms up it can be tempting to try to cool off in open water.
But were you aware that cold water shock can cause cramp, breathing difficulties and other physical consequences that can have a serious effect on your ability to swim?
Don't risk your life by swimming in open water. Some 62% of accidental drownings happen in inland water. And more than 80% of those who drown accidentally are male.
The awareness week was created by the Royal Life Saving Society UK.
