Household support fund

Derbyshire County Council has been awarded funds from the Department for Work and Pensions to help support families and households who are facing financial hardship over the winter to pay for food, energy and essential living costs.  Please find attached an information flyer that details how we’ve put together a distribution route that means professionals working in Derbyshire schools, nurseries, health services, voluntary sector organisations can play a key role in supporting families with children to access the fund.

Schools Financial Value Standard (SFVS) return 2021-2022 - updated guidance

Please note, guidance has been updated for 2021-2022 Schools Financial Value Standard (SFVS), deadline remains 31 March 2022. Approved SFVS documentation may be sent either via email to: Suzanne.kiernan@derbyshire.gov.uk, or uploaded to Perspective Lite (830nnnn_AUD).


Secondary schools – Derbyshire Relationship and Sex Education (RSE) award

There are now places available for secondary schools to engage in the Derbyshire RSE Awards programme, Building Effective Relationship Together, from January 2022. Schools will be supported through training and consultation to achieve bronze, silver or gold status. The Award supports schools in ensuring that they are up to date with good practice and implementation of the statutory requirements for Relationships, Sex and Health Education.  For more information please contact CS.RSE@derbyshire.gov.uk by 10 December 2021.


Derbyshire Schools Forum – Digest of Decisions and Minutes – 1 December 2021

This includes items regarding Salary Sacrifice Shared Cost Additional Voluntary Contributions, DfE Consultation – “Reforming how local authorities school improvement functions are funded” and High Needs Block 2022-23 initial review.


Reading Sparks

Derbyshire Libraries are looking for Youth Groups or young people aged 13 to 24 to take part in an exciting project from The Reading Agency, Reading Sparks, which aims to engage children and families with science through reading. More information can be found on SchoolsNet.
