Changes to the school admissions timescales
There are some amendments to the primary school and secondary school admissions timescales for 2022-2023 intakes, particularly relating to when schools who assess their own applications through SAM will be able to do their rankings, please see the respective timescales for more details.
The application process for children due to transfer to secondary education opens on Monday 13 September 2021. Please see information for primary, junior and secondary schools, regarding the procedure and information being sent to primary and junior schools.
Mandatory annual data check on Fixed Term Exclusions
Please email CS.InclusionTeam@derbyshire.gov.uk by 20 September 2021 with School Name, DfE no, and total number of exclusions. If your school has had no exclusions this academic year please complete with a nil or 0. A response is required from every school. If you have already replied to the email sent out by the Inclusions team, there is no need to respond again.

The Department for Education (DfE) is offering a senior member of school or college staff the opportunity to get a grant for training to develop the knowledge and skills to implement an effective whole school or college approach to mental health and wellbeing in their setting. The grant is a contribution to the cost of training and the hiring of supply staff whilst leads are engaged in learning.
Additionally, Derbyshire County Council Public Health funding has been secured to support schools and settings to develop a Whole School Approach to Mental Health and Wellbeing. Further information will be released in October.
