With the MET office forecasting today as being a scorcher, we've gathered some top tips to help you #BeatTheHeat

Heat exhaustion and heat stroke

Heat exhaustion is not usually serious if you can cool down within 30 minutes.

If it turns into heatstroke it needs to be treated as an emergency.

Stay in the shade whenever possible

Draw curtains and blinds to keep rooms cooler

Stay out of the sun between 11am and 3pm

Stay hydrated but avoid excess sugar and caffine - water is best

Slap on the sun cream and wear loose, light clothing
