A record number of people in the UK are living with Type 2 diabetes.
This figure has more than doubled since 1996.
Sadly many people will experience potentially preventable complications because of diabetes, simply because they don’t know enough about their condition and how to manage it.
The good news is if you're at risk of Type 2 diabetes there are lots of small changes you can make to prevent diabetes from developing in the first place.
Derbyshire residents who are at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes can take part in a FREE prevention programme called Healthier You.
Find out more about the Healthier You - Type 2 Diabetes Prevention Programme online here.

Quitting smoking had a little bundle of additional benefits for one Chesterfield woman.
Lindsay and her partner Simon had been trying for a baby for several years with no luck before doctors advised her to stop smoking.
Smoking can reduce fertility in women and there's also a link between smoking and poorer quality sperm so quitting can help increase the chances of conceiving.
Baby Isaac was conceived just two weeks after Lindsay's quit date
Find out more about Lindsay's quit journey on the Live Life Better Derbyshire website here.
