June 2024 - Ulverston, Low Furness, High Furness & Grange |

Welcome to June's newsletter
Another busy month for our South lakes Neighbourhood Policing Team!
This month we launched the new Bowness Welfare Hub.
We want everyone who goes out in Windermere and Bowness to have a great night out, but in case things don’t go to plan we have officers on hand to provide assistance and reassurance.
The launch of the Bowness Welfare hub, based within the grounds of St Martin’s Church, has been designed to provide a safe space and offer support to any person feeling vulnerable or unsafe on a night out.
Anyone who has been the victim of a crime or incident can also attend the Hub and speak to one of the officers on duty who will be able to provide you with relevant police support.

Blue Light Hub Open Day
On 22 June we held an Emergency Services Open Day in the area for the community to meet with all the services, ask advice, understand what the services do and for the children to have fun.
The police stand offered crime prevention advice, fingerprinting for the children and the opportunity to look at the police vehicles and sit in the police van cage!
Our colleague from Penrith also attended offering rural crime advice and information.

Police reveal help for those experiencing domestic abuse ahead during Euro 2024
Police in Cumbria are stressing there is no excuse for domestic abuse – as officers enhance measures to tackle offenders and protect potential victims during Euro 2024.
In previous years, there has been an increase in reports of domestic abuse during major football tournaments, when alcohol-fuelled nights out and inflamed emotions arise.
Officers have been planning for this possibility for some time – and are keen for those who suffer such offences to know help and support is available.
