Hello and welcome to the latest newsletter
We had another busy month last month with lots of rural crime work, including the #LeadOn campaign - which you can find out more on further down in the newsletter.
We also hosted some Junior Citizen events for Year 6 pupils in South Lakes last month. The days were popular with the children who attended and their teachers.
As always, please continue to report any issues or concerns to us via 101, by filling out our PACT surveys or by speaking to your local officer at the many drop ins and police desks.

Junior Citizen - Ulverston
Ulverston Community Staff carried out the first Junior Citizen event held at Ulverston Blue Light Hub on 17-19 April.
Over the two and a half day event, 165 Year 6 pupils from 10 schools received advice on numerous subjects from the Fire Service, NFU, Network Rail, CADAS, Police Cyber Crime Unit and ourselves.
Positive feedback has been received so far with one of the first schools to attend saying: “We all had a really good time and thought the different stations were really interesting, informative and age-appropriate.
"The children came back to school really excited about what they have learnt and very positive about their experience.”

Lead On!
In April, the Rural Crime Team produced new posters with support from Herdy, the National Trust NFC and the PFCC.
PCSO Hayley Newman has been out and about offering these posters to vets, pet shops and other businesses.
There has been an increase in livestock worrying recently.
Livestock worrying doesn't just consist of a dog chasing and attacking a sheep, it can mean a dog chasing and causing stress to the sheep.
In some cases, sheep have been chased off cliffs, miscarried their lambs, died of shock and lost the lambs they were carrying.
Reported in recent weeks, a sheep carrying twins was chased and got caught in a fence and her neck was broken.
A sheep in the Endmoor area was left with horrific injuries from a dog attack, she was found the next day having suffered all night. She couldn't be saved.
It is all so preventable. No matter how amazing you think your dog is off a lead, their instinct is to chase something that moves.
So please, help stop this unnecessary loss and suffering, and keep dogs on a lead.

Community Speed Watch - Scales Village
